Greenpeace has taken action upon the issue of excess pesticides found in farm products. The green group made the accusation after obtaining 12 samples of vegetables from three large supermarket chains in Hong Kong in February.
Greenpeace warned that persistent consumption of vegetables contaminated in this manner increase the risk of cancer. The group called on the suppliers to improve quality assurance and also asked the Hong Kong government to take an active part in the supervision of mainland farms.
