家的材料是什麼?甚麼叫做一碟關愛?生存的滋味為何?這次跨界的味覺體驗,我們邀請到Sita Kuratomi BHAUMIK(擁有印度、日本及哥倫比亞血統的美藉藝術家)及Mohammed Saif QURESHI(僑居本地創業家)與我們同行。我們將遊走重慶大廈,聆聽難民及尋求庇護者的故事、與家庭廚師共進午膳、反思香港的糧食生產系統⋯⋯最後,我們會煮出一份理解、吃下一口平和。

日期:2016年11月12至13日、19至20日;12月10至11日
時間:下午1時30分至4時30分
地點:重慶大廈(11月12日)、生活書院(其餘日子)

第一節:遊走重慶大廈,與難民或尋求庇護者一起參與關於“家園”的野餐。
第二節:與外帶私房菜社企Chefo的朋友一起烹飪及共進午膳。
第三節:你曾否在食物中感受到愛?煮幾款有經歷的咖哩,分享你的故事。
第四節:反思香港的糧食生產系統,嘗試成為一個“餐飲創業家”。
第五節:與來自津巴布韋的嘉賓Innocent見面,在紛擾不斷的世界,細味食物的力量。
第六節:我們可不可以透過食物建立同理心,創造和平的世界?

*Sita Kuratomi BHAUMIK
擁有印度、日本及哥倫比亞血統的美藉藝術家Sita Kuratomi BHAUMIK,現於加州藝術學院任教,她亦是奧克蘭People’s Kitchen Collective的共同創辦人。Sita的作品曾在荷蘭Future Food Festival、the Smithsonian APAC、Jack Shainman Gallery及Southern Exposure等多個地方展出。

*Mohammed Saif QURESHI
生於印度,其後到英國接受大學教育的Mohammed Saif QURESHI,由一名飛航工程師、教育科技創業家轉為教育工作者。Mohammed曾於香港兆基創意書院教授企業與烹飪等知識,他深信食物能連結人,並期望以食物為媒介以激發更多創意和了解國際間關係和可持續發展。

What are the ingredients of home? What is a serving of care? What is the taste of survival? Join Sita Kuratomi BHAUMIK, an Indian-Japanese-Colombian-American artist, and Mohammed Saif QURESHI, a “local expat” entrepreneur, in this sampling of tastes across borders. We will tour Chungking Mansions, listen to refugees and asylum seekers, eat with “home chefs”, make curries with stories, reflect on Hong Kong’s food system… and cook up a menu for understanding and peace.

Date: 12, 13, 19, 20 Nov, 10, 11 Dec

Venue: Chungking Mansions (12 Nov); The School of Everyday Life (other sessions)

Session 1: Tour Chungking Mansions and go on a picnic about “home” with refugees/asylum seekers
Session 2: Cook and share a meal with friends from Chefo, a social enterprise that nourishes supporters with homely meals
Session 3: When did you experience love through food? Have a chat over curries with stories
Session 4: Reflect on Hong Kong’s food system and try being a “food entrepreneur”
Session 5: Meet guest speaker Innocent from Zimbabwe and dip into the power of food in a world of conflicts
Session 6: Can food be an instrument of understanding and peace? Savour the flavours of a “Menu for Peace”

About Programme Partners
Sita Kuratomi BHAUMIK
Sita is an interdisciplinary US-based artist currently teaching at California College of the Arts. She is a co-founder of the People’s Kitchen Collective based in Oakland. Sita has exhibited and published her work internationally at the Future Food Festival in Holland, the Smithsonian APAC, Jack Shainman Gallery, and Southern Exposure.

Mohammed Saif QURESHI
Mohammed is an aeronautical engineer turned ed-tech entrepreneur turned educator. He was born in India, attended University in the UK and worked from Hong Kong with the Hong Kong School of Creativity where he taught teenagers about entrepreneurship and cooking. A firm believer that food brings people together; he uses food as a medium to be more creative and learn about global connectivity and sustainability.
