According to a new report by Royal Society entitled, “People and the Planet” the human population on average is consuming more calories thus living longer compared to their ancestors. Around the world, the increase in calorie intake is approximately 15 per cent from 1969 to 2005 and is still in the rise.

Moreover, the report states “that a child from the developed world consumes 30-50 times as much water as one from the developing world and it is now estimated that by 2025, 1,800 million people will be living in countries or regions with absolute water scarcity.”

Sir John Sulston of the Royal Society said that because of the continue advancement in technology and raise in population, people can be more flourish and are likelier to achieve the goal by having practical solutions to things. However, this alone cannot be done by scientists and governing bodies as the people that make up this world also need to contribute what they can in order from the future of the planet to still be in on the positive side.
